Symantec recently released the final version of Norton 2012 products (Norton Antivirus 2012 and Norton Internet Security 2012). Norton Antivirus 2012, the newest antivirus offered by Symantec, is designed to provide maximum protection without slowing down your computer. It takes less than a minute to install, starts instantly, uses minimal resources and hard disk space – which is why it has also been ranked number one in performance by AV-Comparatives.

The main interface of Norton Antivirus 2012 is very similar to that of last year. However, the settings interface is more organized. Unlike the previous version, which used drop down menus, this year the settings interface is tabbed, to provide easy access. Other new features in this version include sonar 4 behavioral protection, download insight 2.0, and Norton cloud management that allows you to download, install, transfer, update or renew Norton products from anywhere over the Internet.

Most Buzz99 readers are already familiar with this technique which I am about to share. It involves extracting a genuine license key from a 180 days special German version of Norton Antivirus 2009. The same technique was also used on our previous Norton Antivirus 2011 post. Since this is a new version, I am publishing it again with the new screenshots.

Follow these steps to grab 6 months free subscription:

• Download the 180 Days version of Norton Antivirus 2009: NAVPCWelt180.exe
• Install Norton AntiVirus 2009. Start Norton Antivirus 2009 by double clicking the desktop icon or the taskbar icon.



• A registration screen will pop up. (If you don’t receive a pop up screen, click on “Norton Account”). Enter your email address and click the “Weiter” button.



• Fill out the Norton account form as illustrated in the screen below, then click the “Weiter” button.



• You will receive the following screen denoting that your Norton account has been successfully created.



• Log In to your Norton account by accessing this link here.
• Click on the “Norton Account” drop down menu to reveal your free license.



• Download and Install Norton Antivirus 2012 from here:  NAV-TW-30-19-1-0-28-EN.exe
• Start Norton Antivirus 2012 and click on the “Subscribe” button.



• Click on the “I have a key or code to enter” link, and then enter the license key to activate the program.




• That’s It. Enjoy your free 180 days subscription of Norton Antivirus 2012.
