Have you ever wanted to apply old school film effects to digital photos? Analog Projects Professional from Franzis will help you to do just that. The program can be used as a plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Elements and Lightroom or as a standalone program. It comes with a familiar interface with a preview pane, preset effects, settings for each preset effect, plus a toolbar that will allow you to load and save images, view EXIF information, create restore points, switch the interface color, and save the current state of the project.
The UI also supports drag and drop and images of various types can be imported, including JPG, BMP, PNG, TIFF, PSD, PCX, TARGA, EXR, plus RAW files of DSLR cameras. However, output format support is limited to just three, TIFF, PNG and BMP.
Over 70 unique presets are included that can be found on the left sidebar under the categories: wet plate, roll film, polarization, camera obscure, pocket camera and free style. You can select any preset and the processed image will be displayed instantly on the preview pane. If you are satisfied with the result, you can save the image instantly or modify the preset using the settings on the right sidebar.
The right sidebar is divided into two tabs, finalize and expert. Finalize displays the levels of de noising, tonal value, clarity, dynamic and sharpness of the selected preset, while expert displays post-processing filters. You can fine tune, edit or create custom presets using these settings. Custom preset cannot be saved unless you have made a duplicate copy of the original preset first. It will be listed under the same category of the original preset.
