Ashampoo Photo Commander may sound like an image editing app but its capabilities goes far beyond that. The application can be used to view, organize, manage, and convert images. Photo Commander 17 is the latest version offered by Ashampoo, if you do not mind using the version that was released last year, without any limitations, then read on.
Photo Commander 16 features the same interface like the one we saw in the previous iteration, with a bit of tweak here and there. Folder thumbnails can now be sorted according to their date, size, type and rating. Tree like folder browser allows you to select the image folders of your choice and view the content as thumbnails. You can start an image slideshow of the selected folder or double click on an image to edit it.
The application supports a wide range of image editing and organizing functions that are grouped in five different menus. You will find options to edit your images under quick-fix menu. The tools provided under quick fix can resize, crop, rotate, remove red eye, optimize, and apply various effects to images. Objects menu provides tools to add text, objects, shapes to images.
After you are done with adding objects and optimizing your images, you can create web based album, calendar, collage, panorama, contact sheet and slideshows of your images using the create menu. Batch processing and batch renaming of images is supported. You can also burn your processed images to a CD/DVD without the help of any third party programs.
