Microsoft has announced its latest cloud service called Office 365, which will provide an always up-to-date Microsoft Office, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online. This cloud based service of Microsoft’s business productivity solutions provides synchronization among users of an organization from any device in a simple and secure manner.
Office 365 charges $6 or 5.25€ per user, per month from small businesses, professionals and small companies with fewer than 25 employees to provide Office Web Apps, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Lync Online and an external website. Office 365 for enterprises, on the other hand, provides Office Professional Plus along with e-mail, voicemail, enterprise social networking, instant messaging, Web portals, extra nets, voice conferencing and video conferencing, web conferencing, 24×7 phone support, on-premises licenses, and more at a cost of $2 or 1.75€ to $24 or 22.75€ per user, per month depending on the type of package chosen.
Microsoft has planned to test Office 365 with a few thousand organizations in 13 countries and regions around the world. This number is likely to increase to 40 countries and regions next year. Later in 2011, Microsoft will expand Office 365 to include Dynamic CRM online to provide complete productivity experience to all organizations. Office 365 for education is also scheduled to be released in late 2011 to facilitate the learning experience of student and faculty.
